I am Lilliana Carrillo a junior at Roosevelt! I was at Elgin Community College for two years and earned my associates of arts degree.  I love helping others and especially children. I am also very patient and a great listener. These traits are the reason why I chose to major in elementary education.  I love teaching children new topics, ideas, and concepts they are not familiar with. When I see their faces with a huge smile because of the new concepts they are learning, it just make my day. The most beautiful part about teaching children is the moment when a child understands a concept he or she was having trouble understanding. On a different note, I am very excited about LIBS 201. I think LIBS 201 will help me become a better writer. I learned a lot from taking English 101 and 102, and I know LIBS 201 will help me learn news concepts that will help me become a better writer. I do not consider myself a horrible or excellent writer. I think am an average writer that is excited to learn new material to improve as a writer. I also love reading because I learn new concepts when reading different books. Writing and reading are very important for my upcoming career. As a teacher, I have to love reading and writing and mostly to find ways to encourage my students to read and write. As of right now, I really want to work on placing commas in the correct place, citing, and researching. I know this class will definitely help me improve on all of these things and help me become a better writer.
